Social Innovations for Cleaner Environments

www.sice.lt

Lead:

SICE is an NGO run by a team of social scientists pioneering the field of environmental psychology in Lithuania.

The members of SICE are working on promoting pro-environmental actions and developing long lasting solutions that would create robust positive behavioural change. SICE is focused on conducting research on pro-environmental behaviours and their social antecedents as well as social and infrastructural solutions that can help nudge society toward sustainable practices. SICE also provides consulting services to organizations that aim to reduce their environmental impact and for designers and planners on designing for sustainability.

The main goal of SICE is to bring evidence-based social innovations to organizations and communities in order to promote pro-environmental actions and to help transition toward sustainable practices. SICE can help bridge the gap between technical solutions for sustainability and their end-users.

SICE’s diverse research perspectives range from climate change awareness, to values and identity, to individual differences and environmental antecedents of behaviour. Adopting a holistic perspective toward behavioural change allows SICE to provide context-specific solutions to various problems related to adopting pro-environmental practices and new green technologies as well as promoting sustainability in general.
